This is usually a good rule to follow.
Unless, in a state of slight inebriation, you suddenly decide that you should text all your friends and invite them to meet you at a local restaurant/bar for drinks the following night. You give them 24 hours notice. You give them an address. Then, you let the "vodka pour where it may".
This particular event was inspired by my dear friend, Courtney, known and loved by many in our tightly knit community of Rancho Santa Fe, California. She runs a charming and very successful shop in the village called Plume, which offers distinctive stationery, gifts, jewelry, accessories, and clothing. In any case, Courtney embarked on this mission, to gather the girlies for "pop-up cocktails". I Googled, and apparently, it is a phenomenon spreading across the globe.
The texts were sent. In droves.
"Join me at Delicias at 6:00 p.m. for cocktails".
The reason? "Just cuz", her text read.
"Love it! I'm IN", I quickly replied.

The texts spread like wildfire, and what was initially a gathering of a few friends, turned into a bash that ended when the venue closed! Well over 20 women showed up, at varying times thoughout the evening. Lauren, our amazingly adorable server and awesome blogger ( theskinnyconfidential.com ) efficiently kept us "fed and watered" all evening!
